🎉 2026–2027 Scholarship Award Recipients
CW5 (Ret.) Jim White, Chairman/CEO of the USAWOASF, and the Board of Directors are pleased to announce the scholarship award recipients for the 2026–2027 Academic School Year.
The USAWOASF Selection Committee convened on Saturday, 24 July 2026, in Columbia, SC, to conduct a rigorous evaluation of all competitive applications received. The Executive Board of Directors authorized funding for five $1,500 Traditional Scholarships, four $500 Book Scholarships, and—for the first time in foundation history—two $500 Vocational / Technical School Scholarships. All checks are disbursed directly to each student's designated college, university, or vocational institution on their behalf.

The Jack B. Sacks Foundation: Jack Sacks retired as General Advertising Manager of the Washington Post in 1967. His grandson, CW4 (Ret.) Jack DuTeil, proudly serves as Vice President of his foundation, which has funded hundreds of scholarships since 1968, including multiple USAWOA annual grants.
The Estate of CW4 (Ret.) Robert (Bob) & Mrs. Rose Scott: CW4 Scott passed away in March 2015 and Rose in December 2018. Through a generous endowment from their combined estate, Warrant Officer children receive scholarships each year in their honored names.

Scholarship Programs & Eligibility Guidelines
The United States Army Warrant Officers Association Scholarship Foundation (USAWOASF) was incorporated and federally recognized as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in 2003 and operates as a separate entity from the United States Army Warrant Officers Association (USAWOA).
🎓 TWO SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS AVAILABLE ANNUALLY:
1. Traditional College Scholarship - For students attending 4-year accredited colleges and universities pursuing bachelor's degrees.
2. Vocational/Technical College Scholarship - For students attending accredited vocational schools or technical colleges in any field of study (typically 2-year certification or associate programs; students may apply for a second year after successful completion of year one).
Eligibility
Both scholarship programs are open to children (natural and adopted), grandchildren, and dependent stepchildren of members in good standing of the USAWOA. Sponsoring members must have been members of the USAWOA at the date of application submission.
- Recipients of a USAWOASF scholarship in the preceding academic cycle are ineligible for consecutive-year awards in traditional programs.
- Only ONE USAWOA scholarship per student per academic year is authorized.
- For Vocational/Technical scholarships: A maximum of 2 USAWOA Foundation Vocational/Technical College scholarships are authorized per student (one for each year of a 2-year program).
Annual Program Timeline
- Application Window Opens: February 1
- Packet Submission Deadline: Received NLT June 30
- Selection Board Convenes: Late July
- Recipient Announcements: First week of August
- Disbursement: Paid directly to academic/bursar financial offices
