USAWOA Scholarship

About the USAWOA Scholarship Foundation

The United States Army Warrant Officers Association (USAWOA) Scholarship Foundation was incorporated in March 2003 and received non-profit status under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code in July 2003. As a non-profit organization, the Foundation is dedicated to supporting USAWOA members and their families by providing financial assistance for higher education. Many military families face financial challenges, living paycheck to paycheck. The Scholarship Foundation strives to ease this burden by partnering with the donor community. Its mission is to ensure that those who dedicate their lives to defending our country can also provide their families with opportunities for higher education, helping them build a secure financial future.

Since its establishment, the USAWOA Scholarship Foundation has administered the USAWOA scholarship program. For the 2025–2026 school year, the Foundation is proud to continue offering financial support to deserving candidates. A selection board evaluates applications using a whole-person approach. Scholarships of $1,500 and book scholarships of $500 will be awarded in the last week of July. To be considered, applications must be submitted between February 1 and May 30, 2025. Eligible applicants include the children (biological or adopted), grandchildren, dependent children, and spouses of USAWOA members in good standing.

Increase Your Odds of Winning a Scholarship

In preparation for the 2025 USAWOA Scholarship Program, I want to share tips learned from previous applicants. I encourage USAWOA members to share this information with dependents who wish to submit the best application possible. There is a tremendous amount of paperwork and documentation; it benefits each applicant to provide ALL documentation identified on the checklist. I encourage you to follow these tips to better your chances of being awarded a scholarship:

• Apply only if you are eligible. If you were awarded a 2024-2025 school year scholarship, you cannot be considered this year. Read all scholarship requirements and directions carefully to ensure eligibility before submitting your application.

• Do not wait until the last minute to submit your application.

• Become familiar with the application process. If you do not understand something, call or email me for answers to your questions.

• Check your application for completeness. Recheck the following:

   - Type your application (ARIAL font 12) double-spaced.

   - Include your USAWOA sponsor’s name, rank, member number, phone number, and email address.

  - Include a word count on the last page of your essay and sign your name.

  - Stick to the subject of your essay.
